Bio: Liane began her career as a Linguist earning her BA from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She taught ESL before entering The Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California. There she earned an MS with an emphasis on language, literacy and learning. During this time she gained 3 years of teaching experience at the university level. After graduate school Liane worked for start-up educational toy company, Neurosmith, and educational game company, Knowledge Adventure, as well as textbook publisher, Houghton Mifflin. She returned to graduate school to earn a doctorate in Experimental Psychology, with an emphasis on cognitive psychology, from the University of California, San Diego. Since earning her doctorate she has worked for the U.S. Department of Education, UCSD and now she works at Pearson as a Senior Research Scientist with a focus on the learning sciences.
